He acquired his undergraduate degree, and began studying at Logan University to pursue his doctorate in Chiropractic. Dr. Marcus’ parents are both medical doctors who practice in Highland, and always encouraged him to provide service in the healthcare field. After attaining his doctorate, Dr. Marcus joined the esteemed Thompson Healthcare and Sports Medicine in New Jersey to begin his career. After practicing there for two years, he decided to move home to be closer to family, friends, and provide service to the community. When out of the office, he enjoys playing soccer, staying fit, and reading self-improvement books. Dr. Marcus looks forward to serving his patients to the best of his ability for years to come.

Chiropractic - Doctors of Chiropractic practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to healthcare to treat neuromusculoskeletal issues, including pain in the joints of the arms, legs, back pain, neck pain, headaches, as well as an array of other ailments. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills, including training to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as nutritional, dietary, and lifestyle counseling.

Active Release Techniques® - Also known as ART®, is a cornerstone of Alvarado Healthcare. The technique is used to treat problems that involve the muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. ART® is the best approach to quickly diagnosing and treating imbalances involving improper movement. We typically use ART in conjunction with chiropractic care. Dr. Marcus is full body ART certified, which allows him to treat each patient from head to toe.

Chiropractic Techniques

The true beauty of chiropractic care is that it’s safe for all ages. To accommodate each type of patient, Dr. Marcus practices several different techniques, including:

Diversified – The most traditional approach to care involving popping or cracking of the treated area.

Flexion Distraction – A very gentle technique, Flexion Distraction is safe and controlled, benefiting nearly all patients.

Thompson Drop – Also very gentle, this technique often improves patient flexibility and posture among general health.

Activator – This method involves the use of a small instrument to treat the spine and is often a great approach for older patients or those needing an extremely gentle approach.

Webster – Webster Technique is most often used when adjusting pregnant women, as it allows for extra comfort and support to focus on specific muscles and ligaments disrupted by pregnancy.

Why Choose Chiropractic for Your Child?

The earlier in life that a parent chooses chiropractic care for their child, the easier it is to correct spinal misalignments that may cause problems in the future. The adjustment process for infants and children is not only gentle, but safe and effective. Dr. Marcus often utilizes only soft vibration to combat alignment issues in his young patients. With this technique, there is no popping or cracking sound, which parents often find relieving.Chiropractic adjustments often help to ease the following common childhood ailments, including but not limited to:

  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Bed-wetting
  • Colds
  • Colic
  • Ear infections
  • Headaches
