Meet Dr. Marcus
Dr. Marcus Alvarado is a Highland native, Highland High School Class of 2008 graduate, and proud local business owner who is passionate about helping families in his hometown feel better, move better, and live healthier lives.
His passion for healthcare started early. Both of his parents practiced medicine in Highland for more than 30 years and taught him that listening, building trust, and truly connecting with patients are at the heart of great healthcare. That philosophy still guides the way he practices today.
Dr. Alvarado earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University after attending McKendree University on scholarship, where he played both soccer and football. He later played semi-professional indoor and outdoor soccer in St. Louis and New Jersey.
He chose Chiropractic because it aligned with his values - helping people through movement, function, and hands-on care rather than relying first on drugs or surgery.
Outside the office, Dr. Alvarado enjoys reading nonfiction, playing soccer, exercising at Pulse Personal Training in Highland and in his home gym, spending time with family over dinner and game nights, and working toward his private pilot’s license.
He also remains active in the community through service on local boards:

- Chamber of Commerce Board
- Industrial Development Committee
- Past President of the Chamber of Commerce
Today, Dr. Alvarado enjoys helping moms, dads, kids, and active adults feel better, move better, and get back to doing what they love. His goal is for every patient to feel heard, valued, and confident in the care they receive.
